Product details
The AKG D12 VR was specifically designed for capturing bass drums and bass instruments. It features a very thin and lightweight diaphragm that excels at transmitting deep frequencies. The AKG D12 VR also includes an active filter for the following operating modes: In passive mode (without activated phantom power), the signal is transmitted pure and unaltered. In active mode (with activated phantom power), three preset sounds of the active filter are available. A switch allows you to select the preset sounds, and an LED indicates which preset is active.
Green: An additional bass boost results in particularly powerful reproduction of low frequencies and is recommended for capturing open bass drums.
Red: Mid frequencies are reduced, making room in the mix for other instruments. This setting is recommended for vintage sounds.
Blue: Bass and treble boost for a powerful and present kick drum reproduction. Especially recommended for capturing closed bass drums.
