The Akasa M.2 Heatsink NVMe Heatsink is a passive cooling solution for next-generation form factor SSDs. It is no secret that modern M.2 NVMe SSDs can get quite warm under heavy usage, which may even lead to throttling of the drive's speed. To counter this issue and maintain full performance, the experts at Akasa developed a compact passive cooler designed to reduce the temperatures of an M.2 NVMe SSD by up to 20 °C. With a sufficiently powerful air cooling system, the cooling effect could be even greater.
Overview of the Akasa M.2 NVMe Heatsink:
The unique design of the heatsink consists of a front cover, a backplate, and practical mounting clips for straightforward installation of the passive cooler. Included are two thermal pads that must be placed between the M.2 NVMe SSD and the heatsink to optimally transfer heat. The Akasa M.2 NVMe Heatsink works only with single-sided M.2 NVMe SSDs that are 22 millimeters wide and 80 millimeters long. Visually, this black variant stands out with its elegant front cover featuring cooling fins and the Akasa logo, which complements numerous motherboards and effectively dissipates heat.
