Product details

It uses a UV photodiode that can detect the light range of 240-370 nm, covering the UVB and most of the UVA spectrum. This sensor is much simpler than the Si1145 breakout sensor, as it has only one function and provides an analog voltage output, rather than requiring a complicated I2C setup procedure. This makes it better suited for simple projects. It also features a true UV sensor instead of a calibrated light sensor. The power supply for the sensor and the operational amplifier is connected by linking V+ to 2.7-5.5 VDC and GND to ground. You then read the analog signal at the OUT pin. The output voltage is 4.3 V at a diode current in µA. When the photocurrent is 1 µA (9 mW/cm²), the output voltage is 4.3 V. You can also convert the voltage into the UV index by dividing the output voltage by 0.1 V. If the output voltage is 0.5 V, the UV index is approximately 5.
