Servos are part of the RC system and thus the foundation of a remote-controlled model. They are connected to the steering linkage and convert stick or rotary movements from the transmitter into steering movements for the vehicle. In combustion engine vehicles, they also act as throttle servos, controlling both the throttle of the carburetor and the brake. An undersized servo will have a longer response time and a shorter lifespan under load. Therefore, never skimp on the servo! A good servo doesn't have to be expensive, but it makes the model more reliable and lasts for years. In 1/8 and 1/10 RC cars, only standard-sized or low-profile servos are used.
