The second generation of the lens has been optimized in its optical structure. The front group of the front glass is replaced with a single glass with a higher refractive index. The rear group is complemented with a Hoya ED glass, which effectively reduces chromatic aberrations. This results in an overall improved image quality compared to its predecessor. The angle of view has also been significantly adjusted. The design has remained largely faithful, with the difference being that the prime lens of the second generation is more compact than its predecessor.

Due to the high angle of incidence, filter holders or lens hoods can lead to a deterioration of the angle of view and image quality.
