Is the sapphire version worth it if you wear the watch non-stop ? How does the watch wear when biking ? How does this watch compare to the Apple Watch?
Have had the watch for a year and wear it permanently. It still looks very good, no scratches or the like. It wears well, even in everyday life.
I had an Apple Watch before and I haven't regretted switching to the Fenix for a single day. It's useful in everyday life, doesn't look like a sports watch. But it is the ultimate sports watch. I mainly use it for jogging, but also for skiing, canoeing, swimming, etc. That's clearly its strength compared to the Apple Watch. That's clearly its strength compared to the Apple Watch (where I stare at the watch for 2 seconds while jogging until it displays the data, which I also can't customise with corresponding data fields that really interest me).
In addition, Garmin Connect is much more comprehensive with the app and as an EcoSystem, which I have to do with the Apple Watch via 3rd manufacturers, such as Runtastic.
Conclusion: I would buy the Fenix 5 again, and I would choose the sapphire version again because of the glass and Wi-Fi.
So far, the watch is very comfortable to wear, but I can't make a comparison with other versions because it's my first with sapphire.
I haven't worn the watch while biking yet, but it wears very well for normal cycling.
I can't make a comparison with the Apple Watch, as I haven't used the watch myself.
I'm still not clear what the Fenix can do more and what is more accurate than the Apple Watch 3 ? Thank you
