Can the scanner also scan directly into the cloud or a network folder (NAS) or does this only work indirectly via PC or mobile phone and corresponding software or app?
I have the predecessor model C115. And this is how I do it: I save all PDFs directly to Google Drive, which creates a folder on my MacBook / notebook and everywhere. But you can NOT use the scanner as a stand-alone solution, i.e. feed it somewhere and there and scan.
WLAN doesn't work on the Mac, they don't have the appropriate drivers yet. Otherwise, I wonder why you would need a connection to the LAN at all. That would mean the device has a fixed location and all computers can access it. The scanner is so fast that it has to be placed next to the computer. Only then does it make sense to work with it. As soon as a bundle of sheets is in the scanner, it is already time to save it and get the next one ready. This only makes sense if you have both the sheets and the computer and scanner within reach. The simplest solution is to install the driver on all laptops and then position the scanner next to each laptop as needed.
According to the Canon website, it should be possible to scan to various clouds and to the network (via WiFi). I cannot say whether software is required for this, or it is not apparent from the Canon website. It is also possible to scan directly to a smartphone/tablet (via WiFi).
