Hello all. I have read that 4 RAM modules of 8GB each are more efficient in gaming (+/- 30fps) than 2x of 16GB each? Is this really true? My set would include an ASUS ROG Strix X570-E gaming motherboard with a Ryzen 9 3900XT (hopefully in July release). Is it really such a difference whether 8 or 16GB?
Comparing 2x16 and 1x16 makes no sense. Since you get 2x16 when you buy it anyway, you definitely won't have a 30fps difference to 4x4. And on top of that, the future expansion to additional 2x16s will make the 4x4s unnecessary anyway.
I stand by my opinion --> 2x16GB
The Youtube video that you use as a reference and opinion-forming uses an Intel as a test system. So can you apply the results to AMD? I don't see +/- 30fps between 2x8GB and 4x4GB. Only the 1x16GB, which is not surprising.
I don't know where you read that. I would use 2x 16GB. If necessary, RAM OC should be easier in this constellation, because there are fewer modules.
