Is there really room for 22 litres? Isn't it more like 12L?

The external volume is actually about 22 litres. The usable (!) interior volume, on the other hand, is about 12 litres.

So if you calculate the product size once: 0.495m x 0.25m x 0.185m = 0.02289m^3 = 22.9 litres. From that point of view it could be about right.
