When I spend Fr. 1,500 on an Apple monitor from a Swiss company, I expect the product to be for the Swiss market.
Upon receiving the monitor, which is an EU import, I could not even use it straight away since no Swiss adaptor was supplied.
I complained to Galaxus that there was no indication that the product was not a Swiss Apple monitor. The employee (who I felt sorry for, doing her job to explain such nonsense to me, clearly from their employee handbook) said I had to”scroll down the page” to find “specifications” then click “show more” then scroll down again further to “general information” then look at the text that says “May include power adapter: Yes”
I told her, first of all, the word “may include” does not conclusively mention that is or is not an import model.
She explained to me that “many people” had complained about this issue. I replied to her, “if I’m not the only person, doesn’t that tell you something?”
Secondly, I ordered this product on my phone. Who is going to scroll down multiple times to check this information or even know what it means when reading “May include power adapter.” If the product is an EU import, it should be clearly stated on the title e.g. “EU import” and product description e.g “EU power plug.” It should not be written in such a sneaky way that it is clear it is has been written this way to meet “legal requirements” but completely obvious that it intends to mislead the purchaser.
I complained about this issue. Obviously I opened the box, since I was unknowing that I had been mislead to purchase an EU import model and clearly had intended to use it. Hence, the return is accepted by Galaxus at a cost of Fr. 150 (10% of the purchase price).
The proper Swiss version can be purchased from Media Markt for Fr. 50 extra (Fr. 1,550).
Galaxus standards have dropped below my expectations of a Swiss company. If wanted products from EU, I will buy it myself. I don’t need Galaxus to send me EU imports when I’m expecting Swiss.
Pro
Contra
do you have any other issues in lIfe ?? You know they are all made in the same factory in China so just buy a a DE to CH adapter for 4 CHF and quit ranting about such a small little detail come on dude
No issues in life. Let’s start supplying Germany with Chinese plugs then. See how you’ll complain then. Pussy
Funny, in the review EU plug is specified yet comments about a DE plug. Clearly have low DE standards. I’m guessing you earn your cushy Swiss salary but still commute one hour into DE for cheaper supermarket shopping lol. Typical Deutsche kid.
Verstehe den Ärger, aber wäre das nicht zu lösen gewesen mit einem D-CH-Adapter?
My God. Guys in Swiss. You are NOT the part of EU. We don’t owe you anything. With min salaries at 3500 one can afford a cable right? EU market is shuko like it or not. Those are you who made weird plugs. Buy adapters. That is why we don’t like you and never will. Ruining product rating because of a plug is being Karen at 80th level. Bye
