As expected.

Enclosure contains WD200EDGZ, 7200RPM, 512MB cache. Physically this is a rebadged WD Ultrastar DC HC560 20TB drive (designed for datacenter loads) but with max write speed throttled ~30% in firmware and having 2 rather than 5 years of guarantee.

  • Helium-filled, runs cool
  • A pair of these puppies work fine in RAID1 in Synology NAS located in cellar ";0))

Contra

  • on/off button has no function
  • heads click audibly every 5 seconds while idle (thus unsuitable for desktop)
