Sigma has created a top-tier portrait prime lens with the 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens, delivering high performance, a large f/1.4 aperture, and a variety of technologies. This lens, available with a Canon EF mount, features a super-fast f/1.4 aperture that is excellent for shots with exceptionally shallow depth of field and smooth bokeh. It utilizes two SLD elements, one anomalous partial dispersion/high refractive index element, and one aspherical element, which minimize aberrations and ensure sharp, clear images. A Super Multi-Layer coating helps suppress stray light and ghosting.

For operation, a Hyper Sonic AF motor provides fast, accurate focusing, and a large focus ring allows for manual focusing for fine adjustments. A rounded 9-blade diaphragm also contributes to producing a round, smooth bokeh. It is made from a thermally stable composite material that is lightweight and durable, and features a brass bayonet mount. Additionally, it is fully compatible with Sigma's USB dock.
