I bought these headphones because I didn't want in-ear headphones. I don't like being completely isolated from ambient noise.
Unfortunately, I was somewhat negatively surprised by these headphones. In a quiet environment, the sound quality is very good, but when it gets a little louder all around, the bass completely drops out and the audio quality gets really bad.
I was surprised when I compared them with the Apple EarBuds. I thought the Sennheiser were much better, but I was wrong. Because the Apple headphones go deeper into the ear, they retain much more sound quality in noisy environments. And that's despite the fact that they are only half as expensive.
→Recommendation for on the road: Apple.

Super sound quality
Visually the volume control could be more discreet but otherwise everything is good
Being the follower of the MX580, the MX585 is a small step back. Although the cable and the 3.5mm jack are robust (better than with the predecessor), the ear pieces have a different form, are not very comfortable and do not fit in the ear so well. Although this might highly depend on the person wearing them, I read this in other reviews and unfortunately I have to confirm it. Personally, I have to take the MX585 out after an hour or so, because my ears start to hurt. The worse fit also has a slight impact the perceived sound quality (especially in the lower range), which is, however, still very good for this class of earphones. They also have an on-cable volume control slider, which is, in my opinion, very useful, especially if the sound source (phone/mp3-player/...) is in your pocket or backpack.

I am disappointed with this headphone. The earphones are too big and not at all anatomically shaped, so they have no grip and fall out immediately. They also stick out quite far from the ear, which makes it even more out of balance.
I don't like the white design, I only bought this model because of the lack of choice of headphones with analogue volume control. The white plastic looks a bit cheap in my opinion, especially on the volume control, which is quite large. The workmanship is good, I just don't like it.
The sound is quite good for now, but so far I have not been able to put up with the uncomfortable earplugs for any length of time.
I had hoped that the cable/connector would be more stable on this model. Unfortunately, this was not necessarily the case.
The headphones fit incredibly badly in the ear, absolutely no support.
I would not buy them again!

Relatively inexpensive Sennheiser headphones.
I must advise against buying this model.
