Expensive with a few weaknesses, but all in all very worthwhile

As an absolute Google fanboy, I'll try to give as objective feedback as possible here.

You either like the design or you find it terrible. I think it's nice, you get used to the somewhat unique back with the upper third
made of glass, or I like it better with every look and meanwhile I even find it an eye-catcher. In addition, this is yes made of glass to allow better wireless reception, which I can definitely confirm!

The performance is top, absolutely fluid and fast operation. Have not yet operated a better Android phone in terms of these criteria, and I have operated the Samsung flagships, for example, all before.

The equipment is as you would expect. However, if you value a headset, it is unfortunately not included. I personally never use it (for making calls). I also never listen to music on my phone, and I think that all audiophiles want their high-end headphones anyway.

The build quality is excellent and it is fun to hold the device in your hands. I've had a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 5x before and always appreciated the plastic on those, simply because I never liked holding aluminum/metal phones in my hands! However, this smartphone is somehow different, although also made of aluminum.

Picture quality is TOP, there is not much more to say about it.

    In summary:
In the end, the device costs quite a lot. All those who cannot afford it or simply do not want it, there are enough alternatives in the Android segment. In my opinion, no smartphone in the world (whether Apple, Samsung, Google, etc.) is worth 1000 bucks. I still grabbed it because I am an Android purist (i.e. prefer to use an operating system that is as unchanged as possible, as Google builds it) and because rapid updates, which Google of course delivers first to its own devices, are important to me.

    Pro

    • Performance/operation is absolutely fast/rattle-free/fluid.
    • Battery life
    • Camera
    • Update policy of Google (not only functions but also security updates!!!)
    • Almost unchanged Google operating system (tidy and not overloaded)

    Contra

    • No headphones included (but I don't care)
    • No wireless or Qi charging (the battery and the Quick Charge technology are top, though)
    • Only splash protection (not waterproof), which I don't care about though. I care about phones...
    • Only 1 speaker (downward beaming), but is easily enough for me (videos/gaming I do on the PC)

    Anytime again

Google Assistant makes the smartphone even more efficient to use.
This feature takes the smartphone to a whole new level and is a must have
as soon as one regularly uses the services of Google.
The camera is great on both
    sides.
    Makes fun!
