We have it: The new Panasonic GH5S

Panasonic is presenting the Panasonic GH5S at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The camera has a 10-megapixel sensor and can record 4k at up to 60 frames per second. I don't even have to go to Vegas, because the camera is already on my desk. First impressions.
The Panasonic GH5s has been launched especially for film makers and is supposed to make many things better. Good that it's on my desk. But when I look at the tech specs, I notice one thing: The manufacturer has dispensed with an image stabiliser. Won't that result in blurred shots? A comparison with its sister model will show.
The sensor of the GH5S is now fully designed for video and has a resolution of 10 megapixels. Enough for 4k video recordings. The low megapixel count results in larger pixels, which in turn is noticeable in low-light situations. Here too - a low light comparison test with the GH5 is obvious.
In addition, the latest camera from Panasonic can record 4k videos at 400mbps in 422 10bit and at 25 frames per second. Pretty impressive! 50 frames per second with 4k is also possible. However, you have to do without 10bit. To extend the dynamic range of the GH5, you have to pay another 100 francs for a V-Log software update. V-Log is now included in the RRP. Does the absence of an image stabiliser justify a price difference of over 1000 francs compared to the version without "S"? I'm not so sure about that.
