The Nintendo Switch frustrates me
by Philipp Rüegg
Graphics addict Philipp is annoyed by the Switch's outdated hardware. Neo-farmer Michelle, on the other hand, is happy with "Farming Simulator 23". And I play with a "cat toy" while I'm at work. That's what kept the digital editorial team busy this week.
The Nintendo Switch is now six years old. Too much, says colleague Philipp. Especially as the hardware was already outdated on release. If you missed Phil's rant, you can read it here
Colleague Michelle has no problems with the hardware of the mobile console. She tries her hand as a farmer in the new "Farming Simulator 23". After initial difficulties, she now threshes her virtual fields with ease. Thanks to the simplified gameplay, she doesn't have a chicken on her conscience either.
However, colleague David has user RealMajor's composure on his conscience. He is annoyed about David looking at a Klinkenadpater. But David, how can you possibly doubt the purpose of a screw thread?
Nothing gets my goat any more. The reason for this is my new favourite gadget: the Play Tray. The fidget toy calms my nerves and reminds me of a cat toy. Fortunately, I no longer have a cat, otherwise I would have to share it with her. It's the icing on the cake on my desk.
Colleague Martin also puts the icing on the cake with his smartphone: he rooted it. This allows him to do all sorts of legal - and, if I know Martin, mainly illegal - things with his smart phone that you can't do as a normal user. Aargh! You can read how he managed to do this in his article.
Smartphones are also the focus of the article by colleague Jan. He introduces you to his favourites. If, like me, you still have an older phone - my OnePlus 8 is slowly running out of battery - you're sure to find something there.
From big data to big brother, Cyborgs to Sci-Fi. All aspects of technology and society fascinate me.
