The All-Star Battle Royale: Today with "Warzone" and "Apex Legends"

Meet a "Warzone", a "Fortnite", a "PUBG" and an "Apex Legends" pro at Digitec. What sounds like the start of a bad joke is actually our warm-up for the upcoming final of the Digitec Playground Cup. In the ninth edition, "Apex Legends" will be played. A battle royale once again. No wonder, the genre is still flying high.

But which is the best battle royale of them all? Fans of the respective game will be able to answer this question quickly. This includes our experts. Lonya's heart beats for "Apex Legends", Pistolhenry celebrates "Fortnite", Ehmv swears by "Warzone" and Chrigi stays true to the original, namely "PUBG". But how do they fare in unfamiliar territory?

Out of the comfort zone

In our battle royale of battle royale games, the four experts play their way through "Warzone", "Fortnite", "PUBG" and "Apex Legends" together. On the first evening, "Fortnite" and "PUBG" are on the programme. Brightly coloured circus shooter against brown-grey military simulation. The following week there will be "Apex Legends" and "Warzone".

• 1. March 19:00 to maximum 23:00: "Apex Legends" and "Warzone"

The four experts play together in a squad. Except in "Apex Legends", where the game is played in two duos. Three people at a time can prove whether their skills can be transferred to the other games. A session lasts either until the team has secured a victory or for a maximum of two hours per game. Lots of trash talk is guaranteed.
