Sony introduces two new Walkmans - one is just a bit expensive
Sony presents two new Walkman models. They are called NW-WM1ZM2 and NW-WM1AM2 and come from Sony's Signature Series for audiophile listeners.
The successor models of the WM1 Walkman series are here. Sony has given them the complicated names NW-WM1ZM2 and NW-WM1AM2. The two Walkmans have been designed for music lovers:inside. This is also evident in the price of the two models, the Z model costs around 3900 francs, and 3699 euros respectively. The A model costs about 1475 francs and 1399 euros respectively.
The Walkmans are equipped with WiFi for downloading or streaming music. Both models run the Android 11 operating system. Compared to the predecessor series, Sony claims to have improved the sound performance once again, allowing for an even more authentic sound reproduction.
The high price of the NW-WM1ZM2 can be explained, among other things, by the fact that its casing is made of gold-plated, oxygen-free copper with a purity of 99.99 percent. According to Sony, this is supposed to be conducive to a more stable digital ground connection and result in a clear, spacious sound - in other words, like when you're listening to live music. In the NW-WM1AM2, Sony has opted for an aluminum alloy frame, which is supposed to make the cabinet robust and shield electrical noise and other interference.
In both models presented, the fully digital amplifier S-Master HX is installed, which were specially developed for Walkman players. Inspired by DMP-Z1, Sony has further improved the power supply in both Walkmans.
