Sennheiser presents new Momentum headphones

The Momentum is entering its third round: audio specialist Sennheiser is presenting the new over-ear headphones in Berlin today. Several new functions have been added - including one that was long overdue.
Sennheiser Momentum Wireless or Sennheiser Momentum 3: The marketing world doesn't seem to agree on the name of the new over-ear headphones. Everywhere the part is called something else. However, the headphones from the Momentum family presented today at the IFA in Berlin bring some innovations.

Sennheiser's headphones sound good - the audio world agrees on that. However, the predecessor model lacks some functions. For example, the Sennheiser Momentum 2 never switches itself off.
Automatic switch-off at last
The Momentum 3 comes with an automatic on-off function. The previous version can run all weekend and then you have no battery left on Monday morning when you're on the train or in the office. When the Momentum 3 is unfolded, it switches on, and when it is folded up, it switches off again.

In addition, the smart pause feature, which most modern headphones have, is now also included. When the Momentum 3 is taken off, the music pauses and resumes when it is put back on.
Better noise cancelling
The Active Noise Cancelling has not really been convincing with the Momentum series so far. The Momentum 2 only has one level and was unable to filter out many loud noises. Sennheiser now wants to change this. The Momentum 3 comes with three ANC modes. An anti-wind or transparent hearing function can be set in the app.
More buttons, almost the same design, aptX and AAC
An operating button has been added to the headphones: The headphones can now be controlled with three buttons. Access to voice assistants such as Siri and Google Assistant should also be possible at the touch of a button.

The design is similar to its predecessor: the Momentum-typical matt metal temples have remained. The headband is now full-length and covered in leather. This makes it look a little more comfortable. The Momentum 2 put pressure on some people's heads due to the split headband.
Technically, the new Momentum is equipped with 42 mm converters, Bluetooth 5.0 and AptX as well as AAC codec - that sounds good. Sales should start in about two weeks. Our Category Management will let you know as soon as this is the case.
