For the test, Fritzchens Fritz unscrewed a notebook with Ryzen 3 4300U and freed the CPU from any direct cooling. He only directed a 120 millimetre fan at the CPU to create a weak but constant airflow. He runs various benchmarks during the 20-minute test. These include Cinebench R15, TimeSpy and the "Crysis" benchmark.
Fritzchens Fritz wants to use the test to demonstrate how good the overheating protection of the new Ryzen Renoir APUs is. Using the "Renoir Mobile Tuning" tool, he sets the temperature limit to 90° Celsius. Admittedly, the 395 total points or 1262 points for the CPU in Time Spy won't knock anyone's socks off. The fact that the whole thing worked without cooling is nevertheless astonishing. For comparison: An i9-10900K achieved a CPU score of 13,078 in my review.
