Once with and once without mirror: EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II

The new EOS 90D is a typical SLR camera and the new EOS M6 Mark II is a mirrorless system camera. Both are equipped with an APS-C sensor that offers a resolution of 32.5 megapixels.
The 32.5 megapixels are so far unique in the APS-C camera segment. Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm only offer 21, 24.2 and 26 megapixels respectively. According to Canon, there are 5481 autofocus points on the chip. The light sensitivity ranges up to ISO 25,600.
Both cameras are equipped with a Digic 8 processor. This enables 4K video recordings without cropping and full HD films with up to 120 FPS. Another new feature on both models is eye/face detection and AF tracking. This also works for video recordings.
EOS 90D
The viewfinder of the EOS 90D covers 100 per cent of the shooting area. According to Canon, one battery charge should last for 1860 shots. The camera housing is made of aluminium and carbon and is protected against splash water. With battery and memory card, the camera weighs 701 grams and is therefore 29 grams lighter than its predecessor, the EOS 80D.

There is now a joystick on the back that can be used to move the autofocus field. The camera shoots up to eleven images per second. The buffer memory is sufficient for 54 shots in JPEG format and 23 in raw format. The camera is therefore most suitable for wildlife and sports photographers.
EOS M6 Mark II
The EOS M6 Mark II now has an AF/MF switch on the back. With the previous model, you had to switch to the menu to do this. The display can be flipped up 180 degrees. You won't find an integrated viewfinder on the Mark II. An electronic viewfinder for the hot shoe is available as an option.

A single battery charge lasts for 305 shots, according to the manufacturer. For continuous shooting, the M6 Mark II shoots up to 14 images per second - including tracking autofocus. As with the 90D, the buffer memory is sufficient for 54 images in JPEG format and 23 in raw format.
