Both laptops are designed for gaming and rank in the upper mid-range segment. They offer processors and a graphics card from the current Intel and Nvidia line-up.

If you are interested in computer hardware, you are probably already familiar with the Gigabyte brand. Now, for the first time, Gigabyte laptops are also available in our shop. The two gaming notebooks with a 16-inch screen diagonal offer enough computing power for all current games with 14th generation Intel processors and an RTX 4070 graphics chip.

Two hardware variants

The only difference between the two notebooks is the processor and the amount of RAM and SSD memory installed. The notebooks both have two RAM slots. This allows you to upgrade the RAM to up to 64 gigabytes. The two M.2 SSD slots also give you more freedom when configuring your storage capacity.

The more expensive model is equipped with the Intel Core i9-14900HX. You get 32 gigabytes (2x 16 GB) of DDR5 RAM with a clock speed of 5600 megahertz. The device is also equipped with two terabytes of SSD storage space.

A further "Aorus 16X" notebook with a 13th generation i7 processor will be available in a few weeks.

Display and other important hardware specifications

The Geforce RTX 4070 graphics chip with eight gigabytes of DDR6 RAM can draw up to 140 watts of power. The "Windforce Infinity Cooling Technology" uses five heat pipes and two large fans for cooling. This should ensure that the laptop is sufficiently cooled even under high utilisation.

The 16-inch IPS display with a refresh rate of 165 hertz has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. It achieves a maximum brightness of 500 nits and is therefore on a par with significantly more expensive gaming notebooks. A 1080p webcam and microphone are located above the display.

The casing of the "Aorus 16X" is largely made of plastic. The back of the frame and the keyboard feature RGB lighting. The notebook is currently only available with a Swiss keyboard layout in our shop.

The battery has a capacity of 99 watt hours. According to the test by YouTuber Matthew Moniz, this enables around eight hours of runtime when using office applications.

AI features

AI features can be switched on and off for better performance. When switched on, AI tools monitor the required performance and optimise energy management. This should help you get more performance when you need it and otherwise save energy in favour of battery life. Creative AI is also on board: Stable Diffusion is a deep learning model that transforms your text input into images.

Connectivity options

The laptop supports Wi-Fi 7, which gives you the fastest wireless connection. Bluetooth 5.4 is also available. The following connections are also available:

  • 1x USB-C Thunderbolt (Power Delivery and Display Port)
  • 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen. 2, display port
  • 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen. 2
  • 1x HDMI 2.1
  • 1x Ethernet
  • 1x MicroSD card reader
  • 3.5 millimetre jack connection
