The mini digital camera is barely bigger than a lighter and still has a display, full HD video and microphone. The manufacturer promises a minimalist gadget for simple everyday shots.
Small moments don't need big equipment. The mini digital camera from Rollei is designed for simple shots: wherever a heavy camera is too much and a smartphone is impractical. It is tiny, lightweight and still takes photos and full HD videos. The camera is available in black, purple and brown
The camera weighs just 18 grammes and measures 5.4 × 3.1 × 2 centimetres. This means it fits in any trouser pocket or on a bunch of keys. The housing is made of plastic and looks simple and functional. It is operated via a 0.96-inch LCD display. You can see directly what you have recorded and can delete or save images or videos immediately.
The camera saves photos in JPG format and videos in AVI format with MJPEG compression. The camera is powered by a 200 mAh lithium-ion battery, which offers around 75 minutes of runtime according to the manufacturer. Charging is via USB-C.
A 1/4" sensor with a resolution of two megapixels (interpolated) is employed inside. The camera uses software to upscale the image size to 1920 × 1080 pixels. It records videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. The focus range starts at 1.5 metres and the lens is relatively fast at f/2.4.
An integrated LED light serves as a flash or continuous light. This is particularly helpful for close-up shots or in low ambient light. Five colour filters are also available: Green, pink, blue, black and white and sepia.
The camera also records sound. You can use it as a dictation machine or connect it as a webcam via USB-C cable. The audio quality is adequate, sufficient for voice memos or simple video calls.
Rollei supplies the camera with a USB-C cable, adapter, carrying strap, wrist strap and key ring. The recordings are stored on a microSD card with up to 64 gigabytes of class 10 memory, although this is not included in the scope of delivery.
