Nintendo Switch with OLED display launching on 8 October for 350 USD

It’s official: The new Nintendo Switch will go on sale on 8 October 2021. It has a 7-inch 720p OLED display. In TV mode, it delivers 1080p and can be connected to your home network via a LAN port.
About two years after the Switch Lite – the smaller version without TV mode – Nintendo is releasing a new model. On the official website, they call it the «Nintendo Switch (OLED model)». A slightly larger 7-inch OLED display should not only provide richer colours, but also a perfect black, as seen in smartphones and TVs with OLED technology. However, the resolution of the new built-in screen remains the same at 720p.
Contrary to pre-release rumours, the new Switch doesn’t support UHD for TV; it offers 1080p. So, it’s safe to assume there’s no new chip inside. What is new, though; are the improved stereo loudspeakers and an improved dock which now includes a LAN port.

The new model also has an improved adjustable kickstand. Aside from that, the Nintendo Switch OLED is a bit longer and heavier and comes with 64 GB internal storage – double that of the previous models. The battery runtime of up to nine hours remains unchanged.

The Nintendo Switch OLED comes in black and white and supports existing Joy-Cons and games.
