The portable Soundlink Home is designed to spread a good mood in any room. The battery life of up to nine hours should ensure this.

The audio device manufacturer Bose is expanding its range of portable Bluetooth speakers with an indoor soundbox. The Soundlink Home comes in a rounded design and should therefore blend in well with the interior. You can get it from us in dark grey, silver and brown.

Wireless operation for your home

The device has a rechargeable battery that is said to provide up to nine hours of playback. Bose has not provided an IP protection class, which is why the speaker is best suited for living rooms.

You connect the source device, such as your smartphone, to the speaker via Bluetooth 5.3. According to the manufacturer, the range is around nine metres. A connection via USB-C cable is also possible.

Thanks to Multipoint, Soundlink Home maintains the connection with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. This allows you to switch between sources without having to disconnect the current device. According to the operating instructions, all you need to do is stop playback on one device and start it on the other.

No app compatibility, but two devices can be paired

Soundlink Home is not compatible with the Bose apps. Music playback is therefore controlled via the source device. To operate the speaker, for example to switch between connected devices or to control the volume, you use the five buttons on the top of the device. Two Soundlink Home devices can be paired with each other for stereo mode. Thanks to an integrated microphone, the speaker can be used as a hands-free system for phone calls.

You charge the Soundlink Home with the 30-centimetre USB-C cable. According to the manufacturer, this takes around two and a half hours. The device measures around 22 × 11 × 6 centimetres (W × H × D).
