Her innovative power is groundbreaking and her richness of ideas is legendary. Our company hero F!zzy is at the heart of all innovations in our e-commerce galaxy. Let's take a look at the secret of F!zzy's unlimited creativity and find out who she looks up to.
A restless and fidgety creative spirit, you won't find anyone who's more innovative than F!zzy. Even her own name was too boring for her with a regular «i», so she turned the letter upside down and into an exclamation mark. This whirlwind is honest and outspoken and famous for saying the word «innovation» has degenerated into a mere empty phrase. A new lipstick? The thousandth new edition of a laser mouse? A revolutionary sweet drink? That's not innovation.
Empty talk drives F!zzy up the wall. «Just start somewhere,» she says. She's convinced that trying out things and gaining experience on the go is better than writing page-long concepts. This is how she constantly acquires new know-how and profound knowledge – in her field as well as in other disciplines. Failure is a natural part of life, as is learning from mistakes. The greatest discoveries were made by inventors who questioned the status quo to find new solutions and didn't let bureaucracy get in their way. F!zzy isn't afraid to share or publish unfinished work. Her energy, her drive and her out-of-the-box approaches can be overwhelming, but combined with her boldness, they're a guarantee for success.
F!zzy's role model is «Queen of Codes» Grace Hopper. In the 1940s at Harvard University, the American mathematician came up with the idea of writing computer programs in an understandable language instead of using ones and zeros only. She revolutionised communication between humans and computers. At the time, critics ridiculed her and said, «machines don't speak English». Her iconic reply was: «If in doubt – do it!».
The founders of Digitec Galaxus also experienced their fair share of doubters. When they launched digitec in 2001, many people thought: «Forget it, guys!». After all, the market was highly competitive then already and there was fierce competition with slogans such as «Geiz ist geil». The situation is similar with Galaxus in Germany today. Nevertheless, we have big plans there, too.
The bottom line? Fresh ideas deserve our love and passion. While Dr. Sanity Affaire provides for sensible guiding principles, F!zzy is free to express her creativity. Not every experiment turns into a success story, that's for sure, but we live a healthy culture of mistakes. And this makes for an ideal breeding ground that allows groundbreaking to emerge.
I'm passionate about my job as a PR story writer. I've always been fascinated by advertising, magazines and media products of all kinds – from trashy Britney to highly intellectual Judith Butler. When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time sharpening my critical view of society and deconstructing clichés. Nothing's more unneccessary to me than falling back into outdated role models again and again.
