Because the game trade show E3 is cancelled once again, the manufacturers organize their own events. Sony's State of Play is one of them. On Friday night, games were presented there for 30 minutes. Here you can find the most important trailers and announcements.
"Resident Evil 4 Remake"
Instead of just visually beefing up the game, as was done for the recently released VR version, "Resident Evil 4" is being redeveloped from the ground up. However, VR is also what the new, old work is all about. The upcoming Playstation VR2 will also feature some "Resident Evil 4" content.
Coming out March 23, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.
"Final Fantasy 16"
The next numbered main part of the JRPG series will be released in a year at the earliest. You can shorten the waiting time with a new trailer, in which there are dragons, colorful explosions and a lot of whirling around to see.
It will be released in the summer of 2023 for PS5.
"Street Fighter 6
We already saw the teaser trailer in February. Now we finally have the first gameplay of the upcoming street brawler.
To be released in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X.
"The Callisto Protocol
"The Callisto Protocol" doesn't look like a new "Dead Space" by accident. Glen Schofield, one of the creators of the iconic sci-fi horror game, is involved. In "The Callisto Protocol" things are also creepy. Rows of gruesome monsters want to nibble at you, while you don't exactly put up a squeamish fight. It is being developed by Krafton, the makers of "PUBG". Originally, the game was supposed to be set in the same universe as the popular Battle Royale. This idea has since been scrapped.
To be released on December 2, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X.
"Spider-Man: Remastered" is coming for PC
Spidey will soon be swinging from skyscraper to skyscraper on PC. Sony announced that "Spider-Man: Remastered" will no longer be Playstation-exclusive.
To be released on August 12, 2022 for PC.
"Horizon Forbidden West" update
A new-game-plus mode, a new difficulty level, new equipment and more have been introduced in a major update for "Horizon Forbidden West." The patch is available for download now.
Already available for PS4 and PS5.
"Horizon Call of the Mountain."
Exclusively for Playstation VR, the next adventure in the "Horizon" universe is released. Without Aloy in the lead role, but still with epic battles against giant robot dinosaurs. Along the way, there will be some climbing, thanks to new climbing axes. Now simply from the first-person perspective.
To be released whenever the PSVR2 is released.
"Rollerdrome"
If the recently released "Roller Champions" is too tame for you, you should take a look at "Rollerdrome". Here, too, you strap on 80s roller skates. But not to ride around in circles and throw a ball into a ring. In "Rollerdrome" you do acrobatic moves like in "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" on speed and shoot opponents over the edge. It is being developed by the "OlliOlli World" creators.
To be released on August 16, 2022 for PC, PS4 and PS5.
"Eternights
A brilliant action game awaits you in "Eternights". At the same time, it is a dating simulator. Classic Japanese weird. Delightful.
To be released in early 2023 for PS4 and PS5.
"Tunic" for Playstation
The ingenious action-puzzle game "Tunic" is coming soon to Playstation, after previously being available exclusively on PC and Xbox.
To be released on September 27, 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
"Stray
The cyberpunk cat game will already be released in a few weeks. Then you can explore a world full of robots from the point of view of a fluffy four-legged friend.
To be released on July 19 for PC, PS4 and PS5.
"Season: A letter to the future"
The visually enchanting indie adventure game "Season: A letter to the future" has received a release date.
To be released in the fall of 2022 for PC, PS4 and PS5.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
