Google follows suit: looks like the Pixel 6 will come without a charger

Other large smartphone manufacturers have set the example, and now the search engine giant Google also seems to have decided to ship its latest Pixel generation without a charging unit.
Apple started the trend in 2020. A few months later, Samsung followed suit. For the sake of the environment, tech companies have decided to stop including charging cables with their smartphones. Now the Californian tech giant Google is also jumping on the bandwagon.
No power supply for the Pixel 6
According to The Verge, Google has announced that the Pixel 5a, which will be launched in August, is the last smartphone that will come with a charger.

We can expect that the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro will be delivered without any power supply – despite the new Pixel generation, which is expected in autumn, probably being the most expensive of all.
Way to go?
The reason why Apple, Samsung and Google have decided not to include a power supply unit? All three companies point out that most consumers already own a charger and no additional electronic waste is generated if no charger is supplied.
While this observation isn’t wrong, it’s questionable whether the environment or their revenue ultimately played the greater role in this decision.
Thus, the three main manufacturers and a few others no longer add a charger to their smartphones. Whether their decisions will nudge the global trend towards more conscious shopping remains to be seen.
