What is the Galaxus Travel eSIM?
A digital SIM card for low-cost international data roaming, exclusively for Galaxus Mobile customers. Network access is provided using the best available cellular standard (including 5G), though coverage may vary between countries. While eSIM Go is in charge of the technical stuff, Galaxus is still the contracting party.

I’d like to know how much I could save. How much does an eSIM cost?
Prices vary by destination, but they’re significantly cheaper than conventional data roaming. For instance, using an eSIM would give you 1 GB for 3.10 francs in Vietnam or four francs in Sri Lanka. With traditional roaming, as little as 100 MB would set you back just under 28 francs. There are also special offers available for destinations closer to Switzerland. In Italy, for example, 1 GB costs 2.70 francs. (All prices accurate as of 9 July 2026)

What data packages are available?
There’s a selection of packages available, with data volumes ranging from 1 GB to 20 GB. Validity periods range from one week to one month.
Is my smartphone eSIM-compatible?
Most newer smartphones support eSIMs. If your phone is older, though, the feature might not be available. You can find out if your device is eSIM-compatible by checking the settings:
- iPhone: Go to Settings > Mobile Service. If you see an «Add eSIM» option listed there, your device is compatible.
- Android: Go to Settings > Connections (or Network & Internet) > SIM Manager (the name may vary depending on your device’s manufacturer). If you see an «Add eSIM» option listed there, your device is compatible.
There’s no need to worry if your phone doesn’t support eSIM – you’ll still be able to use our standard roaming data packs.
How do I activate my eSIM?
In the Galaxus Mobile Cockpit, select the package for your chosen destination and install the eSIM on your smartphone. When you arrive at your destination, activate data roaming for your Galaxus Travel eSIM, and you’ll be online in just a few minutes.
What happens if I don’t use the package?
If you don’t activate your eSIM within 60 days, your data will be cancelled automatically and the amount will be credited to your next monthly bill.
What kind of plans does Galaxus Mobile offer?
There are three plans available: Basic for occasional users, CH Unlimited as the standard plan with everything included and International for globetrotters. There’s no minimum contract duration, and each plan has a one-month cancellation period.
Plus, you can save money on all Galaxus Mobile plans with the Family + Friends option. Whenever you add a new member to your Family (maximum Family size: five people), the monthly bill drops by one franc. That means you can save up to four francs per month. A full Family can get the Basic plan for eight francs, the CH Unlimited plan for 15 francs or the International plan for 25 francs. You’ll find all the details here.
