Premium performance in a compact body

Equipped with the same autofocus system as the D5, the D500 also boasts comparable burst mode performance. It can be used in extreme outdoor conditions, and comes in a compact DX body.

It lets you achieve natural image quality, in all weathers, whatever the pattern and lighting. What's more, the DX sensor's approximately 1.5x crop factor creates a telephoto effect when shooting with an FX lens. This is particularly interesting for wildlife and sports photography, as you can immerse yourself in the subject without having to carry heavy equipment. Noise is dramatically reduced and even cropped images captured at high sensitivities retain optimum quality.

But that's not all: with the new buffer memory, you can take up to 200 RAW images in a single burst shot at up to 10fps. The 3.2-inch tilting and swivelling touchscreen is ideal for overhead and close-up shots. What's more, the D500 is equipped with the new SnapBridge technology: you can share photos automatically via a Bluetooth connection between the camera and, for example, your smartphone or tablet. The D500 has no built-in flash.
