digitec Podcast Episode 92: Film censorship in China, Netflix's Superlike, "Our flag means death", "Norco"
"Fantastic Beasts 3" falls victim to the scissors in China, and it's not alone. Sony, Lego and Epic want to conquer the metaverse. Netflix brings the Superlike and "Our flag means death" delivers pirate entertainment.
Luca uses the recent example of "Fantastic Beasts 3" to explain what kind of egg dance Hollywood does to please China. There, the censorship scissors were used. Fifa is also not known for its openness. With Fifa Plus, there is now a supposedly free streaming service - with ulterior motives, of course. Elon Musk's involvement in Twitter could have legal consequences. For once, the reason is not too much, but a lack of communication. Sony and the parent company of Lego raid the petty cash and invest in Epic. Once again, it's all about the metaverse. The new Netflix rating system is all about likes. There is now the Superlike.
This week's series recommendation is called "Our flag means death" and follows aristocrat Stede Bonet, who would like to become a pirate. Director Taika Waititi already is. He plays the notorious privateer Blackbeard, who helps Stede. The remake of "Scream" is bloody and surprisingly self-deprecating.
When a bug doesn't prevent mission progress, we continue to play "Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga". Another tip is called "Norco". An unusual adventure game in a "Blade Runner"-like world. Finally, we take a quick look at the ray tracing mod for the original "Doom".

As a child, I wasn't allowed to have any consoles. It was only with the arrival of the family's 486 PC that the magical world of gaming opened up to me. Today, I'm overcompensating accordingly. Only a lack of time and money prevents me from trying out every game there is and decorating my shelf with rare retro consoles.
