Chaos and destruction - "Goat Simulator 3" in the livestream
by Domagoj Belancic
The salmon is burning in the pan, the potatoes will soon be cooked through and we've over-seasoned the steak. Something always goes wrong in the "Cooking Simulator". Culinary ambassador Simon Balissat and Raphael "Pizza Hawaii" Knecht show you how. Stream at 1 pm.
Simulator is probably a bit of an overstatement for this game. You can chop vegetables, fry meat and cook soups. However, this is more difficult than you think because everything is based on a strange physics engine. Fun fact: the recipes are pretty real. So you could cook them yourself.
While you're cooking, you need to keep the kitchen tidy, wash pans and dispose of rubbish. Tidiness is the basis for getting things done quickly. You can't keep the guests waiting, otherwise you'll lose points. Fortunately, the recipes are displayed on large screens throughout the kitchen, otherwise you would be helplessly lost.
If the dish turns out okay, you have to serve it to the guest. They will rate you on flavour, temperature and speed. The more points you score, the more XP and coal you get. This can then be invested in new recipes and skills.
"Cooking Simulator" is a fun game for in-between meals. The game is not really well thought out. The level system is quickly cancelled out, there are no difficulty levels and there is only one game mode in the same old kitchen. Here, "Overcooked" is much more long-lasting. What's great about the "Cooking Simulator" are the authentic recipes that provide variety.
What can go wrong in the kitchen can be seen in the livestream from 1 pm. Everything is likely to go wrong.
The "Cooking Simulator" is available for less than 20 francs for the PC from Steam.
When I flew the family nest over 15 years ago, I suddenly had to cook for myself. But it wasn’t long until this necessity became a virtue. Today, rattling those pots and pans is a fundamental part of my life. I’m a true foodie and devour everything from junk food to star-awarded cuisine. Literally. I eat way too fast.
