The Crosscall Core X4 is a smartphone that wants to be indestructible. It also feels really good. And the camera's good, too. But there’s a big catch.

The French manufacturer Crosscall has hit directly into my heart with the Rugged Phones. They’re chunky, have texture and actual buttons. No other brand offers a comparable haptic experience. In addition, the Crosscall Core X4 features a camera that isn't – as usual – disappointing, but of solid mid-range quality.
