
Batteries with risk of overheating: safety recall for notebooks and mobile workstations

Certain HP notebook and mobile workstation batteries have the potential to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to customers. Therefore, HP has announced a worldwide safety recall program.
The issue
In January 2018, in cooperation with various government regulatory agencies, HP informed about safety issues with lithium-ion batteries of certain notebook computers and mobile workstations, posing a fire and burn hazard to customers. Affected devices were sold all over the world – more than 50,000 in the US.

- HP ProBook 645 G3
- HP ProBook 650 G2
- HP ProBook 650 G3
- HP ProBook 655 G2
- HP ProBook 655 G3
- HP ZBook 17 G3
- HP ZBook 17 G4
- HP ZBook Studio G3
- HP x360 310 G2
- HP Pavilion x360
- HP ENVY m6
- HP 11 Notebook PC

Validation using the utility generally takes less than 30 seconds.
What to do if my device is affected?
- Always plug your device into the mains plug until the problem is resolved.
- Contact the HP customer service Switzerland. HP will replace each verified, affected battery at no cost.
