The most important gaming trade fair of the year has begun. New trailers, game presentations and news are constantly trickling in. Here you will find all the important information and videos at a glance with regular updates.

E3 in Los Angeles starts earlier and earlier every year. While Bethesda kicked things off in 2015 with a press conference on Sunday, there are now teaser trailers for trailers and announcements of announcements days beforehand. In this article you will find a practical and constantly updated overview with the most exciting information and best game videos.

Lively medieval battles in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

16:45: In addition to For Honor, there is another game for medieval fans with Mount & Blade II, which will leave the castle walls shaken. Probably a little less action-packed, but a little more tactical when trying to storm a fortress. Only available for PC for the time being. Date unknown.

Millions of zombies and the craziest weapons: Dead Rising 4

16:10: Where zombies have nothing to do with horror is the Dead Rising series. The more undead the better. Because that means more victims to try out the countless crazy weapons. Old warhorse Frank West is back in the game and is set to heat things up just in time for Christmas.

Here They Lie requires strong nerves

16:00: Horror games seem to lend themselves particularly well to virtual reality. Here They Lie is another candidate that aims to scare players with its nightmarish world. To be released this autumn for Playstation VR.

Who's pulling the strings here? Spiderman

15:40: The spider man is crawling again. There hasn't been a good Spiderman game for a while. Let's hope it works this time. It's being developed by Insomniac exclusively for the PS4.

In a galaxy far, far away: Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

15:30: As sure as the Amen in church, a Lego game is released to accompany every major blockbuster. Star Wars has long been part of the range, so it's no surprise that the latest instalment also gets the Lego stamp of approval. Released on 28 June for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, 3DS, PS Vita and Wii U.

On an alien planet with aliens and Playstation VR: Farpoint

15:20: Farpoint is a space action adventure game set on an alien planet with giant spider monsters. To be released for Playstation VR. Date not yet known.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare gets a new coat of paint

15:15: For those still annoyed that you can only get the remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare along with the new Infinite Warfare, just imagine paying 60 francs for part 4 and getting the new one for free. Either way, the new trailer shows a few fresh scenes from the action classic.

Open world game for extreme athletes: Steep

14:35: Steep is a new game from Ubisoft that revolves around extreme sports such as freeskiing, base jumping and wingsuit flying. You can let off steam in various challenges in the Swiss Alps or in Alaska. Coming in December 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PS4. Let's hope there's snow here then too.

Grow Home is followed by Grow Up

14:15: The cuddly robot from the indie hit Grow Home is getting a sequel. The adventure continues in August. This time it's off to the moon. Coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Next expansion for The Division takes you underground

14:00: Underground is the name of the DLC, which will feature randomly generated missions. There will also be new Incursion missions as well as new zones and Dark Zone sections. Available on Xbox One and PC on 28 June, PS4 players will have to wait until 2 August.

The holodeck finally becomes a reality with Star Trek: Bridge Crew

1:45pm: With the help of Star Trek stars old and new like Levar Burton and Jeri Ryan, Ubisoft demonstrated what it feels like to be aboard perhaps the most famous starship. Well, actually, it's not the U.S.S. Enterprise, but at least it almost looks like it. Anyone who owns an Oculus Rift, Playstation VR or HTC Vive will be able to take the U.S.S Aegis into space this autumn.

Where Vikings do battle with samurais and knights: For Honor

13:40: For Honor not For Hodor. It's not about the gentle giant from Game of Thrones, but a martial action game in which you conquer fortresses with one of three factions and take down enemies in duels. Promises heated multiplayer matches.

Space battle in Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

13:05: Call of Duty has never been seen like this. In the constant endeavour to bring variety to the game, new paths are being taken. The latest trailer shows explosive space battles with shootouts in zero gravity. Grappling hooks are also on sale here. Released on 4 November 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

ReCore: robot dogs and platformers

This unusual game comes from the makers of Metroid Prime. Jumping sequences alternate with shootouts and a loyal robot dog is at your side. Oh, and there's also a grappling hook. Released on 13 September 2016 for Xbox One.

Without Masterchief but with strategy: Halo Wars 2

12:40 pm: After the moderately successful first instalment, the announcement of the sequel came as something of a surprise. Nevertheless, strategists will be delighted to be able to build bases on the console and fight epic battles with their armies. Released on 21 February 2017 for Xbox One. The beta will take place from 13 June to 20 June.

Always go for it with Tekken 7

11:45am: The fighting game goes into the next round. It will be released in early 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. At the same time, Bandai Namco has announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be free for all Xbox Gold members until 21 June.

Hack the Planet: Watch Dogs 2

11:30am: The sequel to the ambitious but somewhat underwhelming Watch Dogs aims to do everything better. Bigger, more beautiful, more varied. The possibilities and gadgets have definitely grown and open-world games are still one of the most popular genres. Released on 15 November for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Cars and graphics porn: Forza Horizon 3

11:20 a.m. Car games are undisputedly among the visual treats. Forza Horizon 3 is no exception, boasting razor-sharp textures and fast-paced speedsters. Cross-play between PC and Xbox One players was also demonstrated with a co-op demo. To be released on 27 September 2016.

Dark, tricky, deadly: Inside

11:15am: The spiritual successor to Limbo, the fantastic and atmospheric puzzle adventure game, is called Inside and is due to be released at the end of the month. The unique style has been retained. Once again you play a young boy who fights his way forward in this deadly sidescroller by interacting with his environment. A new feature is the control of other characters, which you can command via mind control.

With a fat beat against crab monsters: Scalebound

11:10 am: The renowned studio PlatinumGames presented co-op gameplay for Scalebound. The game will be released for PC and Xbox One next year.

Arrrrrrr, a feast for pirates: Sea of Thieves

10:50 am: Steer a pirate ship with friends, plunder and booze together. Where can I sign up? The gameplay trailer looks extremely amusing, even if I still can't quite visualise the game. Coming for PC and Xbox One. Unfortunately no date yet.

Muscle mountains and guns with chainsaws: Gears of War 4

10:45am: The Windows 10 and Xbox One-exclusive cover shooter returns and goes full co-op. The trailer shows all kinds of carnage and an old acquaintance. To be released on 11 October 2016.

Final Fantasy XV with a bit of God of War

10:40 am: In the 15th Final Fantasy, you get to beat up gigantic enemies - or get crushed by them, depending on whether you're playing or me. Looks impressive. Comes out this year for PS4 and Xbox One.

Colourful, acrobatic, weird: Gravity Rush 2

10:30: Even in the first instalment, you could perform the craziest tricks with Kat and beat up imaginative opponents. The bombastic trailer shows that the second part turns up the heat even more. Due to be released this year for the PS4.

The bag badger is back: Crash Bandicoot

10:05am: Sony's former mascot returns as part of the toys-to-life series Skylanders. But Sony has also announced three remastered versions, namely Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. They are to be developed from scratch.

Androids among humans: Detroit: Become Human

9:55am: From the controversial but also renowned studio Quantic Dream (Beyond Two Souls, Heavy Rain) comes the next story-heavy game. In Detroit, you take on the role of an android (among other things?) investigating a crime scene. Coherent and promising. No release date.

The Last Guardian gets a release date

9:50am: The new title from the cult developers behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will be released on PS4 on 25 October 2016.

Clockwork Orange meets Bioshock: We Happy Few

9:40 am: We Happy Few looks extremely exciting. Set in a retro-futuristic England in an alternative time period after the Second World War, you try to survive in this Orwellian world. Happy pills and dog pinatas promise a dark but atmospheric game. Due to be released in July for PC and Xbox One.

More post-apocalypse, but with zombies: State of Decay 2

9:30am: The popular survival zombie game State of Decay is finally getting a sequel. Unfortunately, there have been no gameplay scenes so far. But let's wait and see, E3 is still young.

Once more post-apocalypse: Days Gone

9:20am: Days Gone is an open-world action adventure game. You play as bounty hunter Deacon St. John, who jets through the wilderness on his bike.

Gameplay is of course also available.

Robot dinosaurs in Horizon Zero Dawn

9:00 am: A fresh trailer shows the red-haired Aloy hunting in a futuristic Stone Age world. Watch the video to see why this contradictory description fits. Coming exclusively for PS4 on 28 February 2017.

Playstation VR to be released in October for 400 dollars

8:55 am: Speaking of VR goggles. Sony has announced an exact date and price. In the USA, the Playstation VR will be released on 13 October for 399 dollars. 50 games should be ready by the end of the year, including Resident Evil 7, Star Wars and Batman: Arkham VR.

Put on the VR goggles in Batman: Arkham VR

8:50am: Sony had plenty of VR titles on sale for the upcoming Playstation VR. Including a Batman game. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't show too much, except for one date: October 2016 for PS4.

Tough stuff from Hideo Kojima: Death Stranding

8:45am: Metal Gear Solid developer Kojima showed off his latest project for the first time. With actor Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) in the lead role, Death Stranding makes a mysterious and rather dark impression. No release date yet.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

8:35am: After the surprisingly good and successful role-playing game South Park Stick of Truth, Ubisoft presented the sequel yesterday. The fantasy setting is swapped for a superhero scenario. To be released on 6 December 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

God of War takes on the Norse gods

8:25am: The furious god-slayer is back. This time, Kratos is fighting creatures and gods from Norse mythology. A release date is not yet known.

Resident Evil 7 in VR

8:15am: Sony also had a concentrated load of material up its sleeve. The new Resident Evil 7, which will be fully compatible with Sony's VR goggles Playstation VR and will be released on 24 January 2017, certainly stood out. The demo can already be downloaded and played in the PSN store.

Two new Microsoft consoles: Xbox One S and Project Scorpio

Day 2 - 08:00: Microsoft held a jam-packed press conference on Monday. Alongside countless games, the new consoles stood out. Firstly, there is the Xbox One S, a smaller Xbox One that will be released in August. 40 per cent smaller, no more external power supply, up to 2 TB hard drive, HDR and 4K for Netflix and co. The Kinect port has been removed and can only be used with a USB adapter.

But Project Scorpio sounds even more exciting. Another addition to the Xbox family. This console will be released at the end of 2017 and should enable real 4K gaming. VR is also in focus. Microsoft is relying on the collaboration with Oculus for this.

All three consoles are fully compatible with each other in terms of games and controllers.

Last but not least, there are also customised controllers that you can put together as you wish. A welcome change from the boring black models.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
