Before this I used an alienware 34" curved monitor. The switch from the alienware to this one was just as amazing as going to the alienware from a dual 27" 16:9 monitor setup. It's just better in almost every way.
I use the monitor for work in software development, games and photo processing. It is extremely well suited for the first two, the huge canvas makes multi-tasking a breeze and the insane refresh rate makes everything feel like you're interacting with an iPad.
Colors are excellent while calibrated but only when you're well centered with respect to the display. The curvature helps a lot here as you will naturally place your head where it needs to be. Move away from that or show things to someone sitting next to you and you will see colors and gray levels changing. I think the monitor is good enough but not ideal for photo work.
Gaming on this is out of this world. Movements are smooth and crisp, a clear step-up from the 120Hz IPS display of the alienware. The wider aspect ratio helps tremendously with immersion in racing and FPS games alike.
The only negatives I can find are echoes of quality issues here and from the internet: possible flickering and screen detaching. I had no such issues in my copy and have been using it daily for a month now. It was shipped with the original firmware and I updated it immediately.

Hello, could you tell me if the refresh rate stays at 240Hz when you use the G9 as dual display, I mean game in 16:9 on one side and doing something else on the other side ? Thanks in advance
