For convenience food & co. - variably usable technology works - 5 freezers in the test -
We all know it: on the occasion of Christmas, New Year's Eve and the like, many people from the family and circle of friends always come together, and you want to dine them with an exquisite meal that includes sophisticated delights from appetiser to dessert. But in the end, you always have to realise one thing: Some of the food has not been consumed at the end of the evening. But who wants to waste this food? After all, that would contradict the trend towards waste minimisation, which is also growing in the Western world. Furthermore, no one will want to burn the money they invested in buying the vegetables, meat, fish, etc. that make up the meal. But this is exactly what would happen if the food were finally thrown into the rubbish. So how can this be effectively prevented? By storing the food at temperatures below -18°C, it can be eaten even after many weeks. If the volume of the fridge is not sufficient, you can make do with an attractive alternative - a voluminous freezer. The main advantage of such models is their extraordinary, fully usable volume: If you want to store masses of vegetables, meat, fish, alternatives made from soy, seitan, etc. for many weeks, you can easily do so in such a model. Especially in the still all-consuming coronavirus pandemic, many people will welcome the luxury that opens up in this way: After all, they only have to leave the house once in a while to buy all kinds of pizza, chips and other food that is supposed to last for many weeks. The power consumption of such models is also really moderate, which is of immense value in view of the ever-increasing price of electricity: unlike a classic conventional refrigerator, whose doors have to be fully folded down, the temperatures in such models remain stable even while convenience food and the like are being put in or taken out for many minutes. This time we have taken a look at a handful of different chests from AEG, Bauknecht, comfee, Gorenje and privileg (€min - €max: €397.89 - €592.24) and will now describe the strengths and weaknesses of these models in terms of temperature stability, sound output, power consumption and much more.
