Now you even have 56.30 instead of 66.-. More (or less) than you wanted :)
But with the current supply bottlenecks, the surcharge wouldn't be so absurd, only Galaxus wouldn't display it so obviously ;) "Get it now: +20% for Galaxus"
The Garmin Speed Sensor 2 + Cadence Sensor 2 is compatible with the Garmin Edge 1040. This bike computer supports connection to a number of external sensors, including cadence and speed sensors using ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart protocols, such as these.
The Garmin Speed and Cadence Sensor 2 is generally compatible with most Garmin Edge devices as it uses ANT+. However, it is advisable to check the specific compatibility on the Garmin website as the list of compatible devices may vary. If the Edge 540 is not explicitly listed, it may be helpful to consult the official Garmin documentation or contact Garmin directly.
If there is no GPS reception, the speed and therefore also the distance will continue to be displayed if the speed sensor is present. However, the wheel circumference should be determined as precisely as possible so that the display is accurate.
The cadence sensor could be used to train according to cadence. Both are not mandatory and are nice to have
Yes, the Garmin speed and cadence sensors (product ID: 010-12845-00) are compatible with the Garmin Edge 840. These sensors are designed to work with various Garmin models, including the Garmin Edge series.
The sensor is mounted on the axle of a wheel and counts the number of revolutions. It then calculates the distance travelled in a certain period of time based on the set value of the circumference of the wheel.
I see 2 problems with the spinning bike: 1. Is there an exposed axle to attach it to? 2. what circumference do you set?
For 2. you could of course use the typical circumference of a road bike...
I have paired the sensor with a Garmin Edge 830 and use it with it. The range really leaves a lot to be desired. On the rear wheel for indoor training I constantly have interruptions (sensor lost/sensor found) on the front wheel everything works well, but unfortunately that doesn't help much with indoor training because the bike is stationary. I would rather recommend the Wahoo Speed. It works great.
Google for "garmin speed sensor 2 user manual". In the section "Pairing the speed sensor with your smartphone" it says that this is possible with the Garmin Connect app. I have not tried this myself. I don't know if this also works with the cadence sensor and if/how you can use the sensor data (e.g. save it in third-party apps).
In the product details for the specification, the manufacturer's number is 010-12845-00. This number indicates speed sensor 2 and cadence sensor 2, according to the Garmin website.
I have 3 of them and couple the sensors with the fenix 6 and the Edge 1030, but they also work with any other sports watch, fitness watch or bike computer that can read ANT+ sensors.
