The long plugged-in ones have a cable that is much too short, not three metres. Even shorter than the older N8100 W model. At about 3.5 metres. That's why I'm keeping the old boxes. The small ones have infinitely long cables for front boxes. Produced differently than planned...

No. But the wiring is really long. I have the drive right of my TV and the rear speakers behind/next to my couch. I routed the wiring along the 2.5m long tv bench, along the wall to the couch and behind the couch. And I still have plenty of excess wiring. As it is a typical 2 pole wiring, it could be extended by cutting the wires and correctly add more wiring. But the wires have only a connector on the main console side and are directly connected without a connector on the side of the speakers.

According to the operating instructions, the surround system is very compatible with Sony BRAVIA models (including the KD-65XG8505). Based on this, sound reproduction from peripherals (e.g. PLAYSTATION) should not cause any problems. I own a BRAVIA TV myself and will buy the system. I hope I was able to help you.

On the system itself (settings), you can only place them in the front. If you want to place them in the back, the surround sound will simply not be right. I would therefore recommend placing them in the front.
