The data transfer to the CD also seems to work only with a USB port. In any case, it is recognised and displayed. I have the Surface Pro 4. Thanks for the tip about the power supply!
Yes and no. My Surface power supply has a second USB port (for charging), so the second plug can go in there.
The DVD burner needs two USB ports because of the power consumption. In my opinion, the data plug goes into the Surface and the additional power supply USB plug into a USB power supply (e.g. something like this: item no. 5870919).Please let us know which Surface you have and how you actually solved it.
