Hama FM Transmitter
I have bought an FM transmitter before, but in Germany. The noise is always very loud & when I went shopping in Germany the noise went away. Now I'm not sure if I should order one, as I'm afraid it might be the car and not the transmitter itself.
Hello Imcalledalisha,
I can't say anything about your German model, but I might be able to explain the problem with the noise.
There is a maximum permitted transmitting power for these products. This is not very high so that you don't interfere with others with your "radio station". For the FM transmitter to work well, you should look for a frequency that is as far away as possible from that of the nearest radio station. In Switzerland, the radio station network is quite dense and many stations are supra-regional, so it is quite possible that at some point a station will interfere with your transmission if you drive across Switzerland, for example. In Germany, the transmitter network is probably less dense and therefore has fewer interference factors.
Another point is the car. The better it is shielded (there are many ways to influence this, e.g. heat-reflecting windscreens etc.), the worse the reception, because the FM transmitter has to transmit from the car to the antenna.
Greetings
