No, it doesn't work with fingerprints.
To validate access (to your Facebook account, for example), simply insert the key into the PC's USB port and you will be asked to touch the key.
This key is also NFC, so you can use it by holding it up to your smartphone if it supports NFC.

If you also want to protect access to your laptop, you'll need to look at the Yubikey 5 NFC ( https://www.digitec.ch/fr/s1/product/yubico-yubikey-5-nfc-securite-notebook-10233715), as the Yubico Security Key only works for web applications and services.

It's a good idea to have a second Yubikey (in a safe) in case you lose your first.
