With this firmware update (below), can the adaptive brightness (CABC) also be permanently switched off in the FullHD version? http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId

The link leads nowhere. However, if this is mentioned in the release notes, then it will probably be possible. The best thing to do is to ask Dell itself (or in a notebook forum for Dell XPS 13), they should know best what a firmware update changes or adds.
