Why is the Epson EH-TW6700W (Fr. 1784.-) so much more expensive than the EH-TW6700 (1199.-)? Just because it has Wi-Fi, an extra Fr. 585.- is a bit much...
I agree with you. I would buy the one without the 'W' now. I've never needed it and the beams only go through walls to a limited extent. Transmitters only make sense if all the source devices are at the front of the screen. At first I mistakenly thought that with the 'W' I could transmit directly from the iPad etc. wirelessly to the beamer. But this requires an extra receiver that is plugged into the beamer.
Agreed, but: It depends on the use. In the living room: buy a long HDMI cable and the transmitter is useless. In a larger room, or hall, or if the projector is not in the same room as the laptop, PC, etc., then a transmitter is a good option.
Note: Wireless, not WLAN. This thing has a transmitter for HDMI inputs. I explain the price difference with the (really good) transmitter (and the receiver in the device).
Still, for 40 francs you get a 10-metre HDMI cable. That's cheaper. But it is less elegant. But you don't have the transmitter standing around somewhere on the table.
1200 francs? For such an ingenious, beautiful device? I'll take it. I paid 1600 francs for the Wireless in summer 2017. Its strength: a very good picture even in daylight because of the 3000 lumens. And a good speaker.
