Question about ASUS ZenDrive U7M
Why does the USB cable supplied have 2 USB-A plugs? How is it plugged into the PC? Are there alternative USB cables?

The cable has two connectors so that the drive is connected to the PC with one connector and the second connector is for the additional power supply. You would have to connect the drive with both USB ports so that it really receives enough power. It is possible that the power supply via one USB port is sufficient for just playing the CD/DVD. I don't think you can use another USB cable.
