Why can I not see the video picture during capture ?
Here you are the process according to our supplier :
If the preview image in the VHS2DVD software remains blank or the error message appears that the recording cannot be started, there are four things to check:
1) The cabling is correct and picture (either composite (yellow) or SVideo (black) AND sound (white and red) are connected to the grabber?
It is also very important that the cables on the VCR are also connected to outputs and not to inputs.
If you use a SCART adapter, for example, make sure that it is also an output (and not an input) adapter and that it is plugged into a SCART output socket and not, for example, into a SCART receiver or decoder INPUT.
2) In the software, click on the gearwheels at the top next to the USB 2.0 video grabber and select either the composite or the SVideo input, depending on the connection.
3) If the preview picture still remains blank, you should ideally update the graphics card drivers of your PC and select "reduced colour mode" in the link to the VHS to DVD 2.0 programme.
In the appendix you will find a screenshot illustrating the sensible settings in detail.
To select this option, perform a
"right-click" on the shortcut to VHS to DVD 2.0
(e.g. on your desktop or in the task bar),
select "Properties", click on the "Compatibility" tab and then select the "Reduced colour mode" and choose "16-bit colours (65536)".
Once you have done this, please also select below:
"Run programme as administrator", accept the settings and leave the properties page with OK.
When you start the VHS to DVD programme again, the preview picture will appear AND the Regcom message should also disappear.
4) If the picture still does not appear, this may be due to the new data protection settings introduced in Windows.
Here you have to allow the Grabber (also the camera and the DesktopAppWebViewer) access under Camera as well as under Microphone.
