When I start a walking activity, can I select the number of steps as the "goal"? I have a treadmill and I would like to set the activity to e.g. 5000 steps (and not to the number of km or the duration of the activity), is this possible?

Helpful answer

Automatic goal (interprets your activity level and sets a daily step goal). From the Garmin app you can set the number of steps to take per day. :)
