What speakers would you recommend for a room of about 35m2? I'm mainly interested in a clean sound, not the volume. Would the Bowers and Wilkins 607 fit? Thanks
First of all, the Yamaha R-N803D receiver is a great, well-balanced sounding device. I run the receiver with a pair of Dali Epicon 2s, which is a great match. But it also gets along well with the Sonus Faber Venere 1.5, the Q Acoustics Concept 20 or older Dynaudio Contour 1.8. An acquaintance is enthusiastic about his combination of Yamaha R-N803D receiver and a pair of Oberon 5. I don't know the B&W 607; they are certainly good speakers. I used to have B&W 801 first generation studio monitors, but today I wouldn't choose these speakers; driven by the Yamaha R-N803D receiver they would probably sound too soft and out of contour.
Your suggested speakers would fit. However, it would be worth investing a little more money in the speakers, e.g. in the HECO Celan Revolution 3 (I have a predecessor model). Maybe a subwoofer (e.g. from Dali). When streaming Hi-Res Audio from Qobuz or Tidal, you won't regret your investment at all. - You want a clean sound!
