What kind of drives can be connected to a SATA Express port? When will the ASUS Hyper Express SSD be available?
S-ATA Express SSDs can be connected to an S-ATA Express port. However, these are not widely available and we do not carry them in our range. However, if there is interest, we would be happy to take some. However, they are much more expensive than M.2 SSDs. For the X99 boards, I recommend an M.2 SSD such as the Samsung SM951. Unfortunately, there is no information about the Asus Hyper Express SSD, if and when it will be available.
In addition to Mr. Seeholzer's answer, I would like to point out that you can also connect two normal SATA cables to the SATAexpress port and suggest PCI-e SSDs as an alternative.
