What is the difference between the WD RED PLUS 4TB and WD RED PLUS 6TB?
According to my research, both HDs should be equipped with CMR technology, but they seem to be very different in terms of Fr/TB. What is the reason for this?
And once I select the 6TB I get another choice between CMR/SMR and when I select the 4TB I get a choice of buffer sizes.

I assume Fabiansson did not ask what CMR vs SMR is. The short answer to this is "forget SMR, take CMR". Ok, the SMR is cheaper. If you don't want to use the disk in a RAID array, you could save money with SMR, but I think you're saving money at the wrong end. I don't understand the choice of buffer size. I assume that cache is meant. More is always better. If the larger cache is available for practically the same price, who would want to buy the disk with the smaller cache? Maybe someone can explain? The Fr/TB difference can have various reasons. Perhaps the 4 TB technology has been on the market for so long that it can be produced very cheaply. But I also think it's really weird that the 3TB disk costs practically the same, a ridiculous -.30 Rp. difference. Someone who only sees later that the 4TB drive costs the same feels cheated...
